Why you should sign up for AuctionAd$
AuctionAd$ is a new affiliate network system where a whole lot of people band together to show ads for eBay. Well, sort of...
Look at it like this. eBay has an affiliate program in place that sets your percentage based on the amount of sales that go through your link. The problem with this system is that most people will never get past the bottom earnings tier.
What would happen if a whole lot of people banded together? If one person can make 40% by referring $20 in sales what would 100 people make? Well, they would all make the same but, if they banded together that $20 would become $2,000 and they would all make 52.5%. That is 12.5% more than they get for going it alone!
| Total Revenue ($) generated |
% of Revenue |
| $0 - $24.99 | 40.00% |
| $25 - $99.99 | 45.00% |
| $100 - $999.99 | 50.00% |
| $1,000 - $9,999.99 | 52.50% |
| $10,000 - $99,999.99 | 55.00% |
| $100,000 - $249,999.99 | 57.50% |
| $250,000 - $999,999.99 | 60.00% |
| $1,000,000+ | 65.00% |
The earnings are based on what money eBay makes on the auction, not the final sale price of the auction so don't get the crazy idea of following your own auction links to get massive discounts!
I have been running this service on my blog since right after it was released and... I have made $5 in the first month.
Now, you might be thinking, "$5 is all you made? How is that worth my time and effort?" Well, put it in perspective. I have been running Amazon affiliate ads for over six months and have not broken $2.
The beauty of this system is that every member in the network helps push the total sales closer and closer to the top tier of the eBay payout system. On my own I might make 40% on my referrals but, with AuctionAd$, I know that there is a good chance (with time) that I can be making money as if I were sending millions of dollars in sales to eBay!
Now, I have not yet begun to optimize the ads for my blog. I will be doing it soon. I will start by finding my most popular posts (that involve things you can buy on eBay) and dropping an AuctionAd$ block into those entries. I expect that this will allow me to make even more money once it catches on.
Some folks worry about adding this when they already use AdSense but... This is not against the AdSense TOS and if you are worried about someone leaving by a CPA link rather than a $.05 CPC link you have other problems to worry about.
Above is a basic unoptimized adblock. There are many sizes to choose from and you can swap the colors around.
If you click the link at the bottom of the adblock you will go to their website and you can sign up for the service. what are you still doing here? Sign up and make some money!!!
In case you are wondering, AuctionAd$ has already signed up over 5,000 members.

I think Auction Ads really is more suited for product oriented blogs, much like Chitika is. I don’t have any active blogs in this area, so I don’t know if I can really use AuctionAds with much success.
I tried it out on a car blog on someone’s suggestion, but no revenue during the two weeks it was active.
It does depend on what sort of traffic you receive.
One of the topics I cover is video games, Nintendo games in particular. I tried to monetize that traffic with Amazon ads but nothing came of it. Since I added the Auction Ads links I have seen a much better conversion rate on those articles!
We ran AuctionAds for about 2 weeks, got discouraged, and took it down. Then I put it back up a week later and made $5 that week. This week we’ve only made $0.90 though.
I agree that it’s ideal for a product blog, but I think it’s possible to still make a little change to cover some costs as well.
Nintendo games sounds like a great topic for AuctionAds, since there’s a big market for games on Ebay.
I have a few retired product blogs that still get traffic… maybe i need to try AA on one of them to see if anything comes of it.
Ah, the art of the presell. Personally, I think AuctionAds stinks. It targets only a select few websites and most others will never see success with it.
How’s that? I mean…it’s a product-driven service. I’m there are a ton of people using Amazon, but I’ve made money with it. Just curious as to what you mean. Not trying to flame.
I’ve made a grand total of $0.27 since putting this up less than a month ago. 8)
I’ll have to check out AuctionAds. I hadn’t heard of them until JC posted about it, and he’s now not affiliated with them. I believe? because of the iFrame post
If they booted him over the iFrame thing, then good. I thought that was incredibly “schmucky” of him and I’m not venturing back to a site that may have already set who knows how many aff cookies for just stopping by.
Wow. I didn’t even notice that they booted JC.
i’ve been toying with the idea of doing the amazon ads.. but i guess I’ll check out AuctionAds.. i thought I heard they were being sued or something.. am i mistaken?
I have heard nothing about them being sued!
I haven’t heard that either.
I’ve had just the opposite result that you have…as far as Amazon vs. AuctionAds. I’ve made about $30 in months with Amazon, and only about $9 to date (since mid-March) with AuctionAds. I have, however, taken down my Amazon and replaced them with AuctionAds completely. Hopefully, I can put to rest which works better. The trick is trying to find something that people will click.
I never broke $2 with the Amazon ads. I had thousands of clicks on the ads but no sales.
With AuctionAds I’m seeing a much higher return per click than I ever did with Amazon.
Amazon has been a total waste for us as well. After 3 weeks we had 1 click on the Amazon Omakase (contextual visual ad) vs 100+ on AuctionAds. Maybe there’s just a higher curious factor w/ ebay auctions than an amazon product.
The other thing about the Amazon ads is that cookies stick around for a few days. Any purchases made within the time they click on your ad get credited to your affiliate account. IIRC.
I have an idea for a new blog that will run acution adds, Ill be interested to see how you get on with it. Hopefully I wont read a “why Im dumping auction adds” post before I get my site up and running ;-)
