The big ordeal is over. I have defeated the last bug and put the blog onto the new server!
The last problem I had to overcome involved moving to a newer version of mySQL that was causing problems with the character set used in the old database. Let me know if you encounter any problems.

First let me say that my friend Robottnik has spoken rather highly of you. Secondly, let me ask that with this new server, what are the specs. I am mainly concerned with the software side (I know that you are using mySQL for your database) like what OS you are running and the like. But the hardware specs would be nice as well. You see I am looking to start hosting a server myself sometime in the near future but never having done it without other people to handle the DB side and the like I am a bit over my head. So any advice or help in this field would be greatly appreciated. Having said this though, if you are too busy to do this that is fine.
Lastly, I think that what you have started with the Pokemon farming is great, and I hope to participate (by participate I mean get some cool pokemon) with this site going forward.
I’m using FreeBSD for the OS. Server specs are up to you. I’m hosting about 15 sites right now and I have not seen the server load go much higher than 20%. For some reason (have to look into it) my server uptime is pretty bad.
Why free BSD?? Was that your choice or what you were offered by the host?
I have never used any of the BSD variants, and TBH doubt I ever will having an affection for Linux….
Just wondered what your take is on it???
I was offered FreeBSD, Fedora Core 6(?) and Windows. I chose FreeBSD because:
1) BSD is Unix not Linux
2) BSD will run Linux apps if needed
3) I have used BSD on multiple servers in the past and I am familiar with it.
