I was Stumbling around the web today when I ran into this amazing piece of gaming history; depleted uranium dice!
No one knows when these dice were made though it is likely they are from the 1950's era. The dice are nickel coated and are just under an inch across.
These dice are heavy. Depleted uranium is heavier than lead so that little fact should give you an idea on just how heavy these little bad boys are!

That’s really strange, I’d imagine since they are so heavy that they wouldn’t be used for playing. I wonder what they were used for then.
Wow those those dice are heavy, what were they used for?
I would imagine they were used to cast fear in the hearts of players all over the world!
What is the dimension? Is it like common dice? I imagine playing monopoly with that dice :)
depleted uranium is still (though to a lesser degree) radioactive
I saw this and thought I’d share some info. I own a pair of dice, one of which is depleted uranium. The other is aluminum. In the 60’s and 70’s my dad worked for a company that made projectiles out of depleted uranium. They made bullets for the A-10 aircraft, also known as the Flying Cannon. They gave away these dice to customers to show the difference in density in different metals. I’ve had these since I was 7 or 8 years old. They were always good for show and tell once or twice a year. 40 years later and I’ve seen no ill effects. My father and a couple of others were transfered or fired after complaining about the company’s questionable storage and desposal procedures.
