Spotplex is off to a bumpy start
A few days ago I added the Spotplex tracking image into my sidebar and sat back to watch what would happen.
On Saturday my blog was in the Top Ten listing of most heavily visited blogs and my articles were all being tracked. Then something went wrong.
At some point between March 4th and March 5th all tracking from my blog ceased to work.

I contacted Spotplex's support group and informed them of the problem, they are in beta after all, and they thanked me and said they would find the problem and fix it.
As of this morning, March 6th, my blog is still not being tracked at Spotplex. The blog is in their system, but no hits are being tracked. Before you say something foolish like;
"That's cause no one is reading your lame-O blog, you n00b!!!"
take a look at my site stats from sitemeter.

Clearly I am getting plenty of traffic, it is just not making it to the Spotplex system.
To be honest, Spotplex has sent me very little traffic. At the same time, Spotplex is a brand new service and not many people are aware of it. Like Million Dollar Avatar, it is a service that costs me nothing to participate in. So I can't exactly complain when it does not work. Well, I can complain when in does not work but I prefer to complain in a constructive manner as opposed to a destructive manner. I want my complaint to help fix the problem not just anger the people involved.

Thats a lot of traffic Steve, Your doing good business with that
I’m trying to, I’m trying to…
Geez, that is really good traffic. I shall now add “Mighty” before “Steve” when I comment.
I guess that is because it is still in testing mode. Saying so, it can be noted that MyBlogLog acted strangely last couple of days even when the script was still in the sidebar for users.
Yes it was acting strangely. I posted about it yaesterday What’s wrong with MyBlogLog?
I have read on that as well. But at this stage, this is not something to be worried about as well. Since it is still in Beta, it means that the producers already expect ‘cork-ups’ on their side, and what they need is feedback from their users. That is how they will work on it till its release.
Where the heck is that huge spike in traffic coming from?
That was coming from Digg… Then I got buried right before lunch…
That is really strange.. and of course tough luck for you.
Oh, and I haven’t checked Spotplex lately, but I too put my code in my template. I stopped checking when I saw nothing but tech related stuff inside of the Gaming category. Uhm, hello, there’s already a category for tech. Hopefully they fix that soon.
