It really was all about the Pokemon!
I moved the lions share of my Pokemon articles over to PokeFarm.com this weekend and I have to say that the impact on my page views and traffic in general is astounding! I have lost about 60% of my traffic by moving the Pokemon articles to their own blog.
You can expect HMTK.com to continue to focus on gaming and I will be getting back to writing about social news shortly. I will also be posting more personal stories from my past.

So one blog becomes three, so far!!!
Glad your moving that stuff off, I was put off reading your blog due to the vast number of pokemon posts I had to dodge…
Hope it continues to be a success for you!!

and I get back on the TC list haha ;-)
Yes you do.
I wonder how this will affect my alexa?
Just checked your poke site, thats a lot better, reckon your poke site will do a lot better now its themed for those readers… not sure about the rusty colored fonts though….
Steve, I wouldn’t be too worried about the initial drop. I think you may have driven away some readers (for both blogs) by writing essentially about two different topics on one blog. I would expect that both blogs would grow from this split over time.
It’s not that traffic has dropped as much as traffic has moved. If I had the traffic for both sites together it is going up. It’s just that traffic HERE is now down.
This is where I put in my shameless plug offering some theme-altering services to those who may want it - I now have (1) Theme conversion under my belt. WooHoo!
with URL.
Since you added me as an author to HMTK.com, I noticed the MBL stats drop dramatically! I figgered it must be the PokeFarm that did it. But yeah, it is nice not to have to dodge all the Pokemon stuff!
