I used to paint miniatures for money. I say "used to" only because I have not had an order in a long time!
This particular one I painted for Kenzer and Company several years ago when they still sold miniatures.
I got involved with them after one of their employees made an announcement that they were looking for skilled miniatures painters. They pay was not great (they paid in product) but, since I was already buying their product I figured I'd give them a shot.
I painted a ton of miniatures in my first batch so they kept sending me more. I later found out that I was one of the very few who actually sent that first batch back! Most of the people who signed up to paint just kept them.
Now, I don't claim to be a world class painter. I have never won any awards for my painting but, I paint well enough and I have a very fast turn around time. The ogre miniature above took me all of two days to complete. Most of that time was cleaning and priming.
I still do enjoy painting but it's harder to do in the winter as you need someplace warm and well ventilated to prime in. Paints can also get hard and thick when it is cold outside.
I still do some paint for hire so, if you are looking for some painting services that will not win awards, but will make your gamer friends jealous, then drop me a line!

That’s pretty sweet! I see you got accepted into Kontera… let me know how it goes for you. I also noticed Chow is using it, too!
BTW, the game is sweet, I just need four people to play it with. :D
Just trying it out right now…
