After reading Do Follow, D-List, and No No-Follow on Make Money Online Free With Court Growth For Persistent, Intelligent People. about the Do Follow plugin for Wordpress I decided to check it out.
Even though my top commentators list is set to spread the Google juice I did not know my comments were set not to. From this day forward every comment you leave on the blog will give you some Google juice!
I am still using Akismet (60K+ and counting) to fight the spam and I have to wonder if using this plugin will push my daily spam intake above 1K spam comments!

I likewise wasn’t aware that I wasn’t spreading the link love. I wrote http://www.goingthewongway.com/2007/05/10/no-nofollow/ recently as I discovered it. I also used the Dofollow plugin, which was extremely easy to use.
Now that I think about it, I should have realized that you might not have it since I’ve commented before, and I never saw the link back. Oh well, hindsight is always 20/20 I suppose.
It’s good to see that other people are realizing that they are (sometimes unknowingly) having nofollow links. I’m not exactly sure how, but it’d be nice to inform as many bloggers as possible to have more link love for commenting bloggers.
Nice of you to open up the comment links.
I thought they always were open! I figured that unless I set a “no follow” option somewhere they would not have the “no follow” tag.
Wordpress and a couple of other blogging platforms have the nofollow on by default as you’ve learned. Initially this is exactly what the nofollow was intended for so I don’t really mind it as much. However, this new perversion of using it for any paid links or all external links (wikipedia) really aggravates me.
I agree with you there. I try to only use it when I am linking to Wikipedia, Google and Digg.
After reading this I’ve just realised that my blog has No Follow as setting. I thought as Steve did that cos I hadn’t marked a No Follolw option that it did follow. Guess I was wrong.
I’m just about to change it.
Welcome to the revolution!
I’ve joined the do follow club as well. Like some of you I didn’t realize the comments defaulted to no follow.
