Racial note: Gnomes follow all the standard rules from the HackMaster Player's Handbook. This includes the rules for Gnome Titans and Gnomelings
The gnomes have their own language which has been learned by others. They also have a diferent dialect that their elders use to comunicate with each other that has never been translated. The languages do sound similar so it has been assumed that hese two languages are a 'low' gnomish and a 'high' gnomish. The gnome view on religion is a unique one. From what has been gathered over the few short centuries of contact they have a religion similar to druidism but one that focuses on what lies under the ground rather then what lives above. Gnomes are a rather Neutral society. They seem to be more interested in watching the world pass by rather then take an active part in it. Gnomish communities are very tight-knit, almost to the point of appearing xenophobic to outsiders. In public and behind the shop counter gnomes are friendly and very talkative but when discussions get personal they quickly clam up as if insulted and point you to the door, or simply walk away if outside. The gnomes stand about 3 feet tall at full size and weigh between 35 and 60 pounds. They are even smaller then the Culahn and bear a dark earthy complexion, with dark eyes and whispy hair. One thing of note among gnomes is that the amount of hair on their heads appears to be finite, to the point that as their beards grow the tops of their heads begin to bald. The females of this race do not grow facial hair and tend to be slightly larger in size. The gnomes are a very secretive race. They tend not to share their feelings or thought with others, save for companions they have known for many years. This is not to say that they are rude or hide away all day long, in fact they are quite jovial and boisterous when partaking of strong drink. In particular, gnomes love a good show and a good joke, many gnome comunities are centered around a combination gemshop and tavern.
