After suffering heavy losses the Mulat withdraw to the west leaving the entire Eastern coast to the Rakan Empire. |

Artifacts of an ancient culture are recovered in the mountains on the western Rakan border. All artifacts vanish shortly thereafter. |

Gnomes make formal introductions with the Rakan Empire. Because the gnomes live underground the Rakan accept them as allies and accept their borders. |

Rakan expeditions to the southern continent increase none return. |

Dwarf tales told by gnomes begin to spread across the empire. Many humans enter the mountains in search of the fabled dwarves. Some return with tales of amazing subterranean cities. Mysteriously all those who return with wild tales soon vanish. |

The elves along the eastern coast agree to the rule of the Rakan. In exchange they are treated as ambassadors of the elven nation (no longer in existence) and thusly are not citizens. |

The great dwarven rush ends and they are relegated to fantasy status. |

Expeditions funded by the empire cease as losses are too great and nothing new is learned about the southern continent. The empire begins to concentrate on its infrastructure and improving the lives of its people. |

Brom learns the secret of forging iron from the god Vulcan. The iron age begins in Rakan city and slowly moves outward. Distant cities still remain in the bronze age. |

Gnomes begin to trade iron ore with the Rakan. |

Pirate attacks begin to hamper trade ships along the eastern coast. The pirate war begins. |

Port West founded on Rygel's Island after the last of the pirates are vanquished. |

Rakan miners begin to discover iron ore veins across the empire, destroying the gnome's monopoly on iron ore. |

While quarrying stone in the granite hills for construction of the great temple to Nazan in Port West an underground complex, whispered to be dwarven, is discovered. No artifacts are found within and it appears to have been abandoned a long long time ago. |
