Mini Painting

Steve's No Frill's Painted Miniatures

Not only is Steve a talented writer of code, but he also paints miniatures (for a fee.)

Steve has been painting miniatures for a long time (back into the early 1980's when he used Testers© paints with cheap brushes and toothpicks) and has progressed over the years. He recently painted a number of miniatures for Kenzer & Co's HackMaster Tactical Miniatures line© as well as a large number of old west miniatures for Jolly R. Blackburn for use in beta game testing of "Shattered Frontier©."

Steve tries to keep his rates low and is willing to paint from as simple as "slop-n-go" to more elaborate painting guidlines. Steve is not a "perfect" painter so please don't request something as wild as a multi-colored gowing sword that cast shadows of different colors all over the figure etc...

  • Basic Slop-go: No shading/highlighting, minor flash trimed and miniature primed and sealed with a matt varnish upon completion. Coloring is left to Steve. - $5 per mini/negotiable for large quantities with similar colors (i.e. large collection of Battletech© mechs going with a single color and a wash.)
  • Game Table: Basic shading achieved via washes with original color then drybrushed over top. Colors as requested by buyer, better mold/flash cleaning, prime, matt varnish upon completion. This is a standard paint job, better then pre-painted plastic figures, looks good on the table, not going to win any awards. - $10 per mini.
  • Advanced Painting: This is where I do my best to give the buyer exactly what he wants. There is no set price as it varies by way of the figure and what the buyer wants.
  • *** Large miniatures may cost more for all levels.
