As many of you know I have been running Windows 7 on my netbook and I have been greatly impressed with it.
Microsoft has now released an early upgrade offer where pre-ordering the newest version will save you a lot of money. You can preorder the Home Premium edition for $49.99 (about half off) or you can order the Professional version for $99 (about half off).

What are your favorite new features that it offers? What has led you to be impressed?
@Online Colleges, in my experience with Windows 7, it is basically a better version of Windows Vista, faster, and more efficient. It is my opinion that Windows 7 is what Windows Vista should have been.

I have been working on vista and since I tweaked the settings a bit, it has been great. I wouldn’t mind test driving out the new platform. Thanks for your input.
Thank you for your opinion. I would like to check out the new platform.
Just want to make another note about this… but This offer is also available on Newegg, as I have gotten an email from them, personally that is where I will likely order it from. Considering though.. that many websites may have this offer.. you never know we might be able to get it even cheaper than the 50% price. Maybe some combined bonus or that sort of thing, if you know what I am talking about….

I have heard good things about Windows 7 – certainly compared to Vista.
So far I’ve avoided Vista and stuck with XP. Actually, I have a copy of Vista as I got my PC just before Vista came out and you got a free Vista upgrade with it when it came out, but I didn’t bother installing it after all the negative press I heard about it.
Windows 7 sounds a lot better, though, so may be tempted to try it.
Is is really worth the price of the upgrade? I have only one computer in my house running Vista, the rest are still XP or Ubuntu linux. I really couldn’t find any special enhancements in Vista over XP except you need a whole lotta RAM and disk space for Vista.
Depends on how satisfied you are with Vista. I downloaded and installed the Windows 7 RC on my netbook and I found it worked much better than the pre-installed Windows XP.
If I had a PC running XP with at least 1GB of RAM and a fast CPU I would upgrade for $50.
Yeah I use windows vista on my laptop, I like it better than xp from a visual stand point, but I like Windows XP better for it’s speed and performance, but I do wish vista was better. As soon as Windows 7 comes out, I’ll be looking to upgrade to it really soon.
Till then,
Jean

What do you like about Windows 7? Does it have any cool features or aspects that stand out to you? I am hesitant to switch to Windows 7 until software developers have time to ensure that software and hardware is compatible with Windows 7.
Minnesota… I am fairly sure that Windows 7 will go off much better in it’s debut in terms of compatibility, compared to Windows Vista, just because Windows 7 is really just a Windows Vista that is MUCH better and improved. It’s like Randy said before, in the above comment.. It is what Windows VISTA should have been. But they rushed Vista just to get it out, and it back fired on them big time.
Till then,
Jean
I like to go with the Window XP because performance wise no any OS can beat it.
I download the theme of windows7 from internet. It looking really superb and one step ahead of Microsoft XP. Awaiting for its full version. If someone the date of its launching, plz let me know..
I have also heard some good reviews of windows 7, and I think it will be much better than the troublesome Vista. I have had XP for a long time and I have not had the guts to switch over to Vista yet, but hopefully version 7 has no big bugs with it.
Thank you for your opinion
Thank you for your opinion. I would like to check out the new platform.
Do I understand correctly from the comments here that Windows 7 runs faster than Vista and uses less memory?
hi,Can I upgrade from Windows Vista Basic to Windows 7?

Thanks for the info. I will order it cause I want to change my Vista which is total crap.
