Tips:

1) WordPad Ribbon: There is an option for all applications with ribbons to minimize it, so it only appears when you hover over the tabs. This is great to save screen space and for people that like a clean screen when typing (applies to MS Word, Excel, Etc. also)

Simply Right Click on the Ribbon and Select Minimize the Ribbon" - Almost a must option to use for Netbook users.

2) Windows 7 Taskbar and Netbooks. Since you have less top to bottom space, simply unlock the taskbar and Drag it to the Left or Right of the Screen. This also makes a big difference on 'vertically' challenged displays like Netbooks.

(I always drag my Taskbar to the side of the screen even on larger displays, it just seems to work better for me, especially as I add additional Toolbars to the Taskbar and arrange things around. On 'WideScreen' ratio displays it just makes more sense to not waste precious space at the bottom of the screen.)

3) RC 7100 of Win7 runs better than XP on the Acer Aspire One, with much faster boot times, and faster return from standby or resume from hibernate. I set my power button to hibernate, and can have the sysetm up and running in a few seconds. (I have the 3G model, and it is a Godsend when you are out and about. Or especially if you fly a lot and hate the crap WiFi airports offer.)

I own an Acer Aspire One, and its a fantastic little device for doing work on the move. I put Ubuntu Linux on it, and it does pretty well for small scale graphic design, plus its comfortable for typing. It took some configuration, but there’s a good online community so it isn’t that hard.

I've seen screen shots of Windows 7, and I've got to say the new task bar does look oversized and a bit clunky, plus the start menu looks sparse too. Maybe its better than it looks in the pictures!

Yes it did. I downloaded the Vista 32-bit driver and it fixed the problem. However, multi-touch is not working.

I also noticed the light for the wi-fi does not blink as often as it did under Windows XP. I have not had any problems with it not finding the wi-fi on boot up though?

I successfully installed the Windows 7 Beta on my Acer Aspire One and so far it runs pretty good. I don’t think all the drivers are updated to work with Windows 7 yet. For example, although the wifi works, it does not detect it every other time I boot. Also, the light in the bottom right hand corner of the netbook keyboard where it shows wifi activity does not light up.

My computer has had blue screens 3 times with some sort of dumping process but I’m assuming it has to do with drivers as well.
