Can someone tell me any secrets to how hard to swing the shots on the different yardages? You obviously have a shorter swing plane on a 150 yard shot versus a 180 yard shot. Also, like with hole #8 one has to use a driver to get the distance but it comes in like an out of control jet...any way to hit the ball higher...

thanks...

it is telling you that you are currently in the rough or a sand trap and can not hit the ball as hard as you want. you will hook or slice at that level, as there is less control over the ball in these conditions.

The reduced power gauge is used when you are in a bunker (sand) and then it has only 1 box available and in the rough you have 2 boxes available. Its supposed to emulate real life golf. If you were really in the sand, you could only hit so far and if you were hitting out of the rough, you could only hit so far.

On the subject of the "power guage"... sometimes it only shows 2 or 3 boxes instead of the normal 4... in sometimes if you stay within the 2 boxes say the ball will end up in the water or far short of the green.
Does anyone know what the reduced size of the power gauge is trying to tell you? (me)

I'm hooked on this game too. As far as the "trick holes you speak of- I can only think of one- the 3rd hole and what other one?

Those are some good tips and they are things even I was unaware of!

I only recently hit Pro level on the golf game but I have not seen any change in game play because of it.

A few helpful tools I accidentally discovered: when putting on the green, pressing 1 on the remote gives you a lower viewing perspective to the hole, and pressing 2 gives you a contour map showing the varying elevation of the entire green, making it easier to determine how your shot will travel and to make adjustments accordingly.

Was it one of the beginer holes? There are only two holes in the game (I think) that are possible to get holes in one.

There also two "trick" holes where they offer you a small patch of green in the middle of the forest or the water. If you go for those shortcuts you have to land it just right or it ends up out of bounds.

The golf game may not be for real golfers but I have a lot of fun with it.
