The Wii is winning the console war
According to Internet video game tracker VG Chartz the Wii is in the lead in the global next gen console war. With an impressive 42.6% of the market the Nintendo Wii is poised to to be the big hit of the holiday season AGAIN! The only thing holding the Wii's numbers back is its inability to stay on the store shelves.
Not only is the Wii in the lead on world wide console sales but the DS is kicking butt and taking names in the hand held market. With a commanding 67.9% of the market no one else even comes close!

Notice anything interesting about the above chart from VG Chartz? Both the Xbox360 and PS3 have similar looking graphs while the Wii graph is just one big steep uphill climb. This indicates that Nintendo has a true winner in the Wii. A console that appeals to more than the generic gamer demographic.

The PS3 is still the best. Xbox sucks ass and so does the wii
yeah but while they might be winning in units sold the profits on the xbox blow the wii away. since the wii is practically free in the console war at 250.
SOMEONE is a moron. The Wii is the only console that is sold at a profit. No matter what the nominal cost, it’s the only one making money on actual console sales.
“This indicates that Nintendo has a true winner in the Wii.”
I dont think the console war is over yet. 360 will certainly overtake the wii soon and its still very early days for the ps3. I also suspect that graph is out of date now. I bank my money on the ps3, it has the most potential by far, its just whether it can catch up with the 360 enough.
p.s ‘…’ – numbers dont necessarily indicate a ‘better’ console, just a better marketed one.
lol wow then look today… wii is still kicking butt and taking names with 19.2 million 43.6% of the market share after its first year.. i do believe thats a record
the 360 with over a year head start on both the wii and PS3 is at a reasonable 16.02 million 36.3% of the market, not bad, but when you consider how long its been out and that sales arn’t climbing much anymore just keeping a steady pace..
the PS3 though finnaly is starting to sell with 8.86 million 20.1% of the market after its first year… not bad ended up being about the same as 360 after a year of sales but deffinately not what Sony is use to being in last place with the most high tech and expensive system… and not making any profit on it
Personally, I would definitely prefer that the actual ‘war’ lasts as long as possible with no clear leader. As long as the companies compete and repeatedly attempt to 1-up eachother, I win.
