Still no takers!

To be honest I do not expect any takers. With my PR dropping (and my current job search) I do not have as much time to devote to the blog right now.

I will probably cut down my posting to twice a day!

I try to time my posts for around 8AM EST. That's about it. I haven't analyzed my logs but just using MyBlogLog Pro throughout the day it seems that people will check my blog a few hours into the work day and then again after dinner. I do get readers checking in all day but the spikes (such as they are) seem to be after that morning cup of coffee and then in the quiet times after dinner.

I don't have "timely" posts and what I've noticed is that people catch up with my posts. I'll see just a few visitors and a gazillion page views.

I noticed you increased your Review My Blog price - how's that going?

I have been thinking about this lately. Living on the opposite side of the world to many of the potential readers makes it that much harder - it's in the too hard basket at the moment.

I guess you are right. Posting frequently and at fixed timings is just not enough. You have to anticipate your crowds (just like shops do), and get the most out of the traffic. The right posts at the right times do make a difference.
