We are in the 2nd year of a new school and new PTO. This year I was asked to participate because I spend so much time at the school in my children's classes. I have no idea what is expected of me as a VP. I do get an opinion and do make many suggestions that are discussed and often put into action. I too feel that we should have more parent participation, but am stomped on how to get it. I too feel that it is my obligation to be at as many functions, if not all, as possible. I too wonder if being a volunteer would have been better for my children's time. I understand completely. But I don't have an answer. Very similar situation to my own.
