That was a quick post! Thanks for all the tips and code tricks. Yes, I am a bit intimidated by the redirects and coding. I'm not as geeky as I used to be :D It's also the amount of time I think it will all take. Based on prior coding experience I think of it as the "Times Three Factor" : everything takes 3 times longer than you estimate! I can see backing up and suchlike. I've already backed up my WP database. I need to back up my directories. Then there's the upgrade...I want to upgrade to WP 2.5. It looks like what you're saying is that I can install the upgrade to the same location and then redirect to the root? I thought I may have to install to the root and change everything.
