I read this book as a kid and I really liked it. When I first saw the trailer for this film, I had a hard time believing that it was for that same story. I sometimes wonder why I see films at all because the way the trailers are these days, they show the best parts of the film, as opposed to yesteryear, when trailers were used to get you curious…..

That is one of my ‘pet hates’ when it comes to movies. When the trailer they use to promote the films portrays it as something that it is clearly not! Someone needs to take them to court for false advertising or something!! ;) Maybe a little extreme…

Well, I’m not ashamed to admit that I had “wet eyes” at one point in the movie. I don’t want to give anything away with this review so I’ll leave it at that.

Either way it was a much more “emotional” movie than what the trailer led me to believe and I am glad I saw it.

I too saw the movie with my daughter over the weekend and I was a little disappointed as it seemed like every other Disney movie on the Disney channel.

I vaguely remember the book from when I was younger. I dunno, there was some plot devices that seemed a little contrived.

My daughter liked it, and she asked me if I was crying. I very nearly wanted to tell her that “You have to be a Mom or Dad to understand”.
