I am familiar with Chaos Theory but, in this case, that alternate world already exists.

The idea behind what I wrote here (as shaky as it is) is that the alternate timeline/dimension where you are happy and successful already exists because every time you make a choice every other possible choice is also taken and new universes are created. It's just that you (your consciousness) only goes where you want it to go.

If you can use positive thinking to move laterally among these universes than you can (eventually) make it to the universe where you want to live.

Think of the TV show Sliders.

Your comments remind me of the movie Butterfly Effect, in which Ashton Kutcher (perhaps his only decent role) reads his journals to go back in time, and changes things of his past. When one tiny detail is changed, a whole new world is created for him. If you haven't seen it, I highly recomend it, especially if you are interested in this subject.

But there is a problem with the theory you purpose. While you might be strong willed, and can use it to "change" your future, it does not necesarily mean it is for the good. What is good for you, might be bad for someone else. And changing that one detail, could change millions.

An example could be:
Perhaps you have a crush on a girl, but she is dating a real ass. He was once in the army, and is now into politics. You know he cheats on her, and you really like her. So you have a choice, tell her to benefit for yourself, or leave it alone.

Say you tell her. She dumps her boyfriend. You go out with her, and later on get married. Seems like a benefit for yourself correct?

Well, the man who she was with was in the armyrmy and politics and through the anger that he has built up becomes the next adolph hitler in 20 years.

All because you did something benefitial for yourself. Now obviously that example is a bit over the top, but at the same time it proves that just because your being benefitial to yourself doesnt mean you are helping others or making a better universe.

I am getting tired of posting so I am not going to elaborate on the next topic, but I do challenge you to at least look it up. It is called the Chaos Theory. Perhaps you've heard of it, prehaps not. But its goes with what I am saying.

Now go out there and create a universe. You already are.

I recently saw a picture of a cat in a box. It was labeled "Schrodinger's Box" and the tag line was, "I'm in ur box... maybe."

I'll have to find it and see if I can post it or not.

I've done a lot of reading (even prior to all this "Secret" stuff and I haven't even read "The Secret") about how we create our own reality - that is, if we think it, so it becomes or "we create that which we focus on."

Even if you didn't quite believe it, that you create/manifest your reality, it doesn't take being a rocket scientist to step through how there may be some truth to the concept of creating our own reality.

For example, if you believe that everyone is inherently good, you interact with everyone from that viewpoint. They in turn treat you well because you are behaving in a warm and open manner. If you view that everyone is out to rip you off and "get you" your body language and tone of voice will be combative, which would make people defensive and they will probably drag their feet at helping you.

Another concept that I've come across with respect to manifesting is that there is no concept of time. So your saying "it is plausible that a timeline already exists where you have achieved your dreams" falls within this framework.

That is, your dream is a reality somewhere in time - IT ALREADY EXISTS and it is up to you to make choices and to bring that dream into your current reality.

I'm trying to figure out how Schrodinger's cat and the thought experiment fits in with what you pose here. That is, how observing an object affects the object.
